How to make a real estate agency website

An estate agency site serves buyers looking at homes and sellers deciding who to trust with theirs. Here is how to serve both, and why the valuation page matters most.

Short answer: a real estate website has two audiences — buyers browsing homes and sellers choosing an agent — and the sellers are the business. Make listings easy to search and full of detail, but give sellers a clear path to a free valuation, with local proof that you know the area and sell well in it.

The one job

Buyers bring traffic; sellers bring listings. A site that only shows houses is a noticeboard. A site that also convinces an owner to call you is a business.

The pages you need

  • Home — the area you cover, what makes you the right agent there, and two doors: Find a home and Get a valuation.
  • Listings — search by area, price and bedrooms. Every listing with real photographs, the floor plan, the price and the key facts as text.
  • Sell with us — how you market a home, your fees, recent sales.
  • Free valuation — a short form. This is the page that grows the business.
  • Area guides — schools, transport, what a street is really like. Excellent for search.
  • About and team, and Contact.

What goes above the fold

  • Your area and your promise, in one line.
  • The two doors, clearly separated.
  • A real photograph — a recent sale, your office, your team in the neighbourhood.

Details that win listings

  • Recent sales with prices and time on market — the strongest proof an agent has.
  • Fees stated openly, or a clear "from".
  • Response time — sellers pick the agent who answers.

SEO and answer engines

  • Use RealEstateAgent schema for the agency, and give each listing its own page with the key facts in text.
  • Area guides answer questions people search and ask assistants — "is it a good area for families?", "how far is the station?" — and each one is a door to your listings.
  • Keep office name, address and phone identical everywhere.

Build it with DragGo

  1. Open the Fernwood — Estate Agency template — an agency site with listings, the valuation offer and the team laid out, or pick any other from the Marketplace.
  2. Hand the Agent your logo, a text file with what you do, and your photos. It puts them into the template's own places, writes whatever your files leave out, and asks for the facts only you know — phone, address, hours — instead of making them up. Here is that flow, step by step.
  3. Check it on Desktop, Tablet and Phone — each has its own layout you can adjust.
  4. Press Publish. The site is live on a free address, and you can connect your own domain for free with the certificate included.

Titles, descriptions, canonical links and structured data are written for every page when you publish, and the pages are plain HTML, so both search engines and AI answer engines can read them.

A checklist

  1. Two doors: find a home, get a valuation.
  2. Listings with real photos, floor plans and facts as text.
  3. Recent sales as proof.
  4. Area guides that answer real questions.
  5. RealEstateAgent schema and matching local details.
